He had completely ruled out loving the woman, yet was not only fine with sleeping with her but actively resisted her efforts to get him out of her life, and&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;2. He was so self-involved that though it was "many years ago" that he'd fallen in love, there was no possibility in his mind that he might have, say, grown or changed since then.
