Laundryblogging

My son appears to believe that socks are disposable. This is one of the new ones. The picture would be more effective with half his foot sticking out through the hole in what used to be the toe, but you get the idea: it's a legwarmer now.

But leg warmers are so 80's! LOL! Can't even make a hand puppet out of that poor sock. What hungry toes your son must have! ;-)

Oh, BTW, I'm looking for an old BotP friend that I haven't heard from in ages. And I remember she said she had a blog. So in trying to hunt it down, I came across this blog. Did I find the right Jamie?

You did! Funny, I was just thinking about you, and about BOTP, which has been rather off my radar screen for a while. (Helps that I just saw X-2 this past weekend. Nothing like a bad-boy super-anti-hero to make a gal pine for Condor Joe!)

So... shocked that I'm a Republican? So many of my friends are. (Shocked, I mean, not Republicans! Most of my friends are Democrats.)

Drop me a line!

What the hell is BotP?

And how great is it that your old friends are finding you through your blog??

Hey, Jamie, do you think Gahrie would understand even if we tried to explain?

You never know, Lori...

Gahrie, lest you forget what a total geek I was back in the day, BOTP is Battle of the Planets, an animated series back in the '70s that was in fact the English-language-dubbed Japanese series Gatchaman, suitably cleaned up and lightened up (and with the addition of a couple of really lame characters and some deus ex machina stuff to rival your nuclear-tipped bullets - and I probably ought to just let them go, I know) for American audiences.

I watched it in junior high and my first two years of high school, was hooked beyond hope, and years later, found that I wasn't the only one. Lori here is a friend I made - geez, five years ago or so? - via the Gatchaman webring and email list. We've been in more or less constant touch, now live about an hour from one another, and we've never met.

Lori, for your benefit, Gahrie is an old high school friend with whom I'd lost touch sometime after my oldest was born (or was it just before? Can't recall). He found me via a comment thread on a blog we both read. I love the internet!

Ah! Hence the comment about your friends having to find you through your blog - I'm not the first. LOL! Well, I went back and looked. I joined BotP on Jan 2, 2000... I thought it was before Y2K, but apparently all the reminiscing my XDH (not X then) and I did New Year's Eve (which resulted in looking up all kinds of old shows on the internet) is how I found the group in the first place.
